Make sure you come before 1015am to go to the Lady geyser. They do a fun ceremony and add soap to make it explode. It was really neat! You can go straight to the geyser parking lot and they scan your ticket there. No need to go to the visito…

How long do you need at Wai-O-Tapu?

Allow 60 to 75 minutes for all three loops at an unhurried pace, or about 30 minutes if you walk only the first loop to the Champagne Pool. Add roughly 45 minutes if you also want to see Lady Knox Geyser, which is a separate site a short drive from the main entrance.

Is the Lady Knox Geyser included in the entry ticket?

Yes. The geyser sits about 10 minutes' drive from the main car park and is triggered once a day at 10:15 AM. You need to be there before it starts, which is why most guided tours leave Rotorua between 8:00 and 8:30 AM.

Can you visit Wai-O-Tapu without a car?

Not on this ticket. There is no public transport to the gate, so if you are not driving you need either the Rotorua shuttle or one of the guided tours listed on this site, all of which include the admission.

Is Wai-O-Tapu wheelchair accessible?
